So someone saying to me, “Paula, I’m just looking for something casual but I would like to have sex with you” is perfectly consistent with how I would expect to be treated in a situation where someone does not want a relationship with me. That tells me where his head is at and doesn’t permit false hopes, and if he does it in an inelegant or insulting way, then I will take that into account when determining whether NSA sex is something I would consider. I expect people to say what they mean and mean what they say, and I think if you don’t expect that in life, you don’t get it.
